South Sudan's President Salva Kiir to Fight Corruption

The President of South Sudan has announced his pledge to fight corruption. This comes in light of corruption charges against government officials in relation to a sorghum scandal. However, a high profile meeting between President Obama and President Kiir may have something to do with the announcement to fight corruption.

President Kiir is planning on installing advisers from other African states in high level government posts. In addition, Kiir has dictated a plan of action for future corruption accusations against the South Sudanese government.

These steps are are designed not only to give peace of mind to ordinary South Sudanese citizens, but also to stem the pressure being put on the South Sudanese government.
