In recent months the
Malaysian government has seized over 20,000 Bibles because of a lingual technicality. These Bibles, written in traditional Malay language, had to use some Arabic words to fill in the gaps. The word everyone's up in a tizzy about, is God. These 20,000 Malaysian Bibles refer to God in the Arabic language - Allah. This has upset pretty much every Muslim and government groups are fearing a quasi religious takeover from fundamentalists. "Its [Allah] use in Christian publications is like to confuse Muslims and draw then to Christianity... so it has banned use of the word in Christian literature." This is clearly in opposition to the supposed freedom of religion, but as we've learned thus far there's really no arguing with the Malaysian government.
